It's surprising how much difference this makes to how I feel. I now feel like I have a legitimacy here that I didn't feel before. I'm no longer carrying around anything from Britain - credit cards, ATM card, ID... It's very odd. I think this is the last piece of bureaucratic "plugging in" to be done here.

Plastic Fantastic
I finally got my California Drivers License.
It's surprising how much difference this makes to how I feel. I now feel like I have a legitimacy here that I didn't feel before. I'm no longer carrying around anything from Britain - credit cards, ATM card, ID... It's very odd. I think this is the last piece of bureaucratic "plugging in" to be done here.
